Privacy Policy

DblDouble app · Effective October 16, 2026

This policy explains what the DblDouble app (the "app") does with information. The app is published by Dennis Lu, an individual developer ("we", "us"). Contact: support@dbldouble.com.

In short: your videos stay on your phone. The app has no accounts and does not upload your videos or analysis anywhere. If you watch a YouTube video in the app, YouTube's own player handles it. If the app shows ads, Google's ad service collects some device information to show and measure them. Both are described below.

Your videos

YouTube videos

You can also paste a YouTube link to watch that video in the app. The app uses YouTube API Services: the video plays in YouTube's own embedded player, streamed from YouTube, and the app never downloads or analyzes it. While it plays, YouTube and Google may collect information from your device (for example, your IP address, device details and viewing activity) and may use cookies or similar technology, under the Google Privacy Policy. By watching YouTube videos in the app you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.

Scoring lights you mark by hand on a YouTube video are your own notes. They're saved on your phone together with the video's ID, and are never sent to us.

What the app stores on your phone

What we collect

We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location, photos or videos through the app. The app has no sign-in and no analytics. The app uses the internet only to play YouTube videos you open and, in versions with ads, to load ads. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write or attach, and we use it only to answer you.

Advertising

Versions of the app that show ads use Google AdMob. To show ads, limit how often they repeat, and detect fraud, AdMob may collect information from your device, such as:

Google handles this information under its own policy; see how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your phone's settings (Android: Settings › Privacy › Ads; iPhone: Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking).

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before personalized ads are shown, using Google's consent message, and you can change your choice later in the app. On iPhone, the app asks permission before using the advertising identifier for tracking.

We ask Google not to show ads from sensitive categories, and people who buy the Supporter upgrade see no ads.

Purchases

If the app offers a purchase (such as a Supporter upgrade), payment is handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never receive your card or bank details; we receive only confirmation of the purchase so the app can unlock it.

Sharing and selling

We do not sell your personal information and do not share it with anyone, except the information YouTube and Google's ad service collect as described above.

Children

The app is meant for fencers, coaches and parents and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

Because the app keeps your data on your phone, you control it directly: clear the app's storage or uninstall the app. Depending on where you live (for example, California or the EU), you may have rights to access or delete personal information we hold about you, such as emails you sent us. To ask, email support@dbldouble.com.

Security

Data the app saves stays in its private storage, which other apps cannot read. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but the app never sends your videos, analysis or notes over the internet.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. Important changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
